I purchased this in hopes that this will help with my duller than ever knifes. I have purchased other sharpeners and they have not worked. But this one, WATCH OUT, gives an incredible sharp edge with just a couple of passes. And the edge holds it own for a long time.


I've owned this sharpener for almost a year now. It is very easy to use. Slide the knife through each of the slots, using the first pair three times each before moving to the second pair and using them three times each. If the knife is not sharp enough repeat procedure. While this won't eliminate the need to have a professional sharpen your knives from time to time, it will keep them relatively sharp in between visits to the pro.

I've owned a very nice Henckels chef's knife for the last 20 years. I also have a couple of cheap Chicago Cutlery knives, a very nice parer, and a couple inexpensive bread knives. It takes more times through the sharpener for the nicer, heavier tempered steel of the Henckels than it does the thinner knives. I was very pleased I could sharpen my one sided serrated bread knife with good results.

If you're looking for an easy, quick way to sharpen your knives between professional sharpening, I would recommend this knife especially if you get it on an aggressive Friday sale.

This knife sharpener is the best that I have ever used, it is inexpensive but very very effective at sharpening knives. Easy to use and hones a knife back to new or better condition.


Dollar for Dollar I am very pleased with this machine. It has put a good edge on everything from my cutlery of choice, a clever, to paring and pocket knives. Easy to use if you follow the simple instructions. And makes a remarkably small footprint in a small kitchen where space is a premium.


Pro: Gives knives a nice sharp edge without creating a large bevel. Very happy with end result.
Con: none
Remarks: Had my knives sharpened before by a professional sharpener who put a way too large beveled edge on the knife, which makes the metal very thin and prone to getting damaged when it hits something hard like a bone.

works well. thanks. i was first confused on which slots to use, but basically, i just did a slide on all slots slowly, like a "1-1-2-2" and then repeated that process a few times for a sharp knife


I used the sharpener once. I sharpened all my knives, which was a very expensive set, and they are like new. Not sure how long they will stay sharp, but hopeful. Either way, it was an easy task. For the price, I'm very satisfied so far.


The Presto Pro is a great knife sharpener for the money. Works great on Chicago Cutlery, just take your time and let the machine do its job.
